Making sushi is super easy to make and it’s absolutely delicious! This sushi recipe is made with fresh and delicious ingredients. It is versatile and it’s easily adaptable. I hope you give it a try and enjoy it as much as I do. Enjoy
4-5 sheets of Nori
3 cups of cooked black rice (forbidden rice)
3 Tablespoons of brown rice vinegar, sugar & salt free
1 small avocado, sliced
1/2 cup shredded carrots
4-5 spears of asparagus
2-3 Persian cucumbers, julienned
1 red bell pepper, julienned
1 yellow bell pepper, julienned
1 mango, sliced
1 bunch fresh micro greens
1 cup red cabbage, julienned
1 small zucchini, julienned
1/4 toasted sesame seeds
1/2 cup water
1-Cook rice according to the package.
2-Once the rice has cooked, add the rice vinegar and gently mix. This will make the rice a little more sticky.
3-When the rice has cooled, lay a sheet of Nori, shiny side down on a sushi mat.
4-When you start to put the rice on top of the Nori, make sure to leave about a 1/2” of the Nori at the bottom exposed. Use your wet fingers or the back of a spoon and press the rice down making sure it’s even thickness on top of the Nori. (Please check my YouTube channel to see how I make the sushi)
5-Now start placing some veggies & mango to the upper middle of the rice. Make sure not to over do it.
6-Lift the end of the mat and start rolling the Nori sheet over the ingredients, pressing down gently with the mat to make sure it is tight. Keep rolling until you get towards the end. At this point, you should have about 1/2” of Nori exposed. Dampen the edge with water to seal the role.
*Cooking the forbidden rice in the Instant Pot:
2 cups of forbidden rice
2 3/4 cup water
1-Put everything in the Instant Pot, close the lid, seal and set on manual for 22 minutes. Let pressure come down naturally, and after 12 minutes go ahead and release the pressure. Once you open the lid, that’s when you add the rice vinegar.
