1 1/2 cups uncooked brown basmati rice
1 cup of dry green or brown lentils
3 1/4 cup of water
2 Tbsp Bensons Table Tasty salt free seasoning
1 cup raisins or currants
20 deglet noor dates, chopped
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp saffron
1/4 tsp cardamom
1-Rinse the rice and lentils under cold running water.
2-Put rice, lentils, Bensons salt free seasoning and water in the instant pot. Close the lid, seal the vent and cook on manual for 23 minutes and let the pressure come down naturally. Open lid carefully and fluff rice with a fork.
3-Add the remaining ingredients, raisins, dates and spices.
4-Toss gently and close the lid.
5-Leave on warm for at least 20-30 minutes.
