The Best Faux Parmesan

DESCRIPTION:

This easy, oil free vegan faux Parmesan is the perfect dairy-free alternative to sprinkle on pasta, soups, salads, and more.  Made with wholesome ingredients, it’s cheesy, savory and delicious, without any dairy or added oils.

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup unfortified nutritional yeast
1 cup gluten free oats
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons hemp seeds
2 teaspoons bensons table tasty salt substitute
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

PREPARATION:

1-In a dry skillet over low heat, toast the sunflower seeds until lightly golden and fragrant.  Stir frequently to prevent burning.  Remove from heat and let it completely cool.
2-Add all the ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until you achieve a fine, crumbly texture.
3-Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
4-Transfer the faux Parmesan cheese to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
